Nina Sparling is a journalist and audio producer based in San Francisco. She has reported on the State of Jefferson, what a pandemic sounds like, and Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s 100th birthday party.

She has written for outlets including the New York Times, the Paris Review, Vogue, the Counter, and Logic Magazine, among others.

Her radio work has appeared on NPR, KQED, KALW, Capital Public Radio, KCAW, Alaska News Nightly, and National Native News.

Currently, Nina is investigating affordable housing with the San Francisco Public Press and police misconduct with KQED. She also covers inequality in rural communities for CapRadio.
